Who are we?
Share dental is a new innovative site which aims to provide a platform for the dental team to discuss and share ideas and views, keep up to date with news items, be introduced to new materials and equipment and, most importantly, have opportunities for online Continuing Professional Development.

Who should use this site?
This site is for the use of all members of the dental team. We want the site to be used by anyone who works as part of the dental team, whether in a dental practice, a dental laboratory, hospital based DCPs, dental surgeons and related industry workers.
What are the benefits?
Share Dental aims to bring the whole dental team together by the sharing of ideas and information.
Members are able to access the forums, online CPD, availability of courses and seminars, job vacancies, new products and equipment and also the latest news about your profession. All this and much more, all on one site!
CPD
We are looking for individuals or partners, these could be university based academics or members of the dental team, to help us provide on-line CPD.
We are already in talks with a number of UK based educational establishments but we need to build a vast library of information. We feel that there is little on-line CPD available at present for PCDs and only a limited amount for dentists.
We are of the opinion that there can never be enough up to date CPD available. We are keen to accept suitable CPD on CD, memory stick or via e-mail attachment, in the form of a written document and photographs if required. Remuneration will be paid and is negotiable for items of CPD used on our site.
Forums
The forum is an invaluable way of communicating with other members of the dental team. Some of the forums are in the form of a closed forum where access is only for members who share the same profession, e.g. dental nurses will only talk to dental nurses etc.
There is also a general open forum where all members of the dental team can talk freely to each other, e.g. technicians can talk to therapists or dentists etc.
The forum is also split into specialist areas that are of interest to your particular profession e.g. implantology, periodontics etc.
You have the opportunity to share new techniques, provide information about new products or even advertise job vacancies. The options are endless and will reflect what the members want on the forums. Time spent on the forums can be counted as verifiable CPD.
Advertising
Our vision is to have 5,000 subscribed users by July 2008 and 12,000 by the end of 2008, who will spend about 15 to 20 minutes each on the site per day.
The web site is aimed at all dentists, dental care professionals, including associated industry workers such as practice managers and dental receptionists.
We are able to offer advertising on our home page and sub-pages. Adverts can be (199px (w) x 166px (h) or 160px (w) x 80px (h) and 565px (w) x 90px (h). ) and can contain a link to your own website.
The image needs to be supplied by yourselves and needs to be a static image, i.e. not changing, as either a gif or jpeg file.

It would be impossible for the administrators or moderators to read every message. However we will attempt to remove or edit any material that we find objectionable or offensive as quickly as possible.
